A former varsity football teammate of mine from Laguna Creek High School in Elk Grove, CA has signed a contract today with the New Orleans Saints. The 6'5 320 pound OL Isaiah Ross just finished playing his 2008 Arena League football season for the New Orleans Voodoo. He will stay locally in "The Big Easy" to try to win a spot on the Saints roster during training camp later this month.
Ross, a graduate of University of Nevada-Reno, originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2004, and has since spent time with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe and the Nashville Kats of the AFL.
He is a great guy with a passion for the game of football, I wish him the best of luck.
